The CVS Caremark summer internship program in Rhode Island is located at our Customer Support Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.The CVSi Internship Program will provide CVS Caremark managers an opportunity to hear fresh ideas from educated college students like you, who will complete special projects based on your course of study, within various CVS Caremark departments.
The Program encourages student involvement in CVS Caremark initiatives to increase your knowledge and develop important business skills.
CVS Caremark will provide an investment in your future through a meaningful work experience, and provide CVS Caremark an opportunity to identify potential future employees.
Potential internship programs will be offered in the areas of Advertising, Corporate Communications, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Investor Relations, Logistics/Distribution, Marketing, Merchandising, Real Estate and Store Operations.
What will I be doing?
Interns generally work 40 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks, in a supportive learning environment, working closely with his/her supervisor on specific projects for the department.In addition to your project, the internship program contains other great activities to help you become familiar with CVS Caremark, the corporate environment and prepare you for the future.
- A full day orientation with the program leaders including presentations, a tour of the Customer Support Center, lunch with your manager and lots of fun activities and great information
- Weekly group meetings that incorporate department presentations to give you a full view of the company. You will also get an in-depth, behind the scenes tour of a store and Distribution Center as well as participate in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. Other sessions include resume building, interview skills, job searches and of course some additional fun events
Who is eligible for the internship program?
Students eligible for the corporate internship program must meet the following criteria:- Entering their Junior (or equivalent) or Senior year in the Fall semester, or attending Graduate School at an accredited college or university
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or better
- Study in a program applicable to the internships available
- Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program (approximately 10-12 weeks)
- Submit completed application by the deadline
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
- Have local housing for length of summer intern program
How do I apply?
The application period for the 2009 Summer Program will begin in early January, please visit this site for more updates.All candidates will receive status updates via email. Students who are selected as potential interns based on their application will be contacted for interviews, starting in late February.
